Where can I buy your apples?
We ship our fresh apples to anywhere in the USA. These apples may be ordered online, by fax or by calling us in the office at 540 896 3079 or toll free at 866 887 5662. We also have 2 fruit stands we operate locally – one in Timberville, and one in Harrisonburg. Our fruit stands are open mid-September thru mid-December.
When are your apples available?
We start harvesting apples in August and generally have them for sale from August until supplies last in February or March each year. Different varieties are available at different times of the year.
Tips to assist you:
- We ship our apples in 10lb and 20lb boxes. These are approximate weights that may vary slightly, depending on the size and density of the apples.
- Our 10lb box contains between 18 and 22 apples depending on the size.
- Our 20lb box contains between 36 and 40 apples, depending on the size.
- We only ship apples on Mondays and Tuesdays to ensure that they reach their destination before the weekend. We do not want our apples to be “on the road” for more than 3 days. If we know that FedEx will be able to deliver our apples to you before the weekend, we will consider shipping on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Do you ship apples overseas, including Iraq?
No we do not. Because our apples need to reach their destination within 3 days to guarantee freshness, shipping costs and international phytosanitary inspections do not make shipping apples to overseas destinations a viable option.
What are the cut-off dates for guaranteed delivery for upcoming holidays?
Christmas cutoff is a week before Christmas. This means we should receive your order no later than 17 December. Please call us if you are unsure.
What are the shipping and handling charges?
Our site is linked to the FedEx shipping rates. You will be charged the FedEx shipping rate to your zip code from our location in Virginia.
How long does it take for a package to arrive?
We only ship apples on Mondays and Tuesdays to ensure that they reach their destination before the weekend. We do not want our apples to be “on the road” for more than 3 days.
Is there a gift card in the box?
We can insert a personalized message into the gift box, as long as you complete the gift message in the specified field. You are welcome to call us at the office to let us know if there is a message you would like us to include. We always try to let the recipient know who sent the apples to them, even if there is no specific message.
Where do you ship?
We ship to anywhere in the USA – including Alaska and Hawaii. Express shipping rates apply to some states.
Our orchards are located in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. If the apples you have ordered need to be shipped to the States listed below, you will need to select the EXPRESS SAVER option through FedEx, so that the apples can be delivered to their destination within 3 days. We require our apples to spend no more than 3 days in transit, to allow them to arrive as fresh as possible.
Extra shipping charges will apply to the following destinations:
WA, OR, CA, ID, NV, MT, WY, UT, AZ, CO, NM, ND, SD, NE, KS, OK, TX

Please note, that because we are dealing with a product of nature, we reserve the right to allow up to 2 weeks, to process an order. If your order needs to be delayed for any reason, we will notify you.
We typically ship apples on Mondays and Tuesdays to avoid the shipment being held at a depot over the weekend. On some occasions, if we know that FedEx can deliver in less than 3 days, we may ship your order on Wednesdays.
How do you ship your packages?
FedEx takes care of all our shipping needs. We will work with you though, if you want to send your apples via USPS Priority Mail. You need to call to make arrangements.
What is your Guarantee Policy?
We guarantee our fruit 100%. Please let us know if you are not happy with the quality you receive from us. We are very proud of the quality we produce and want you to be happy with your order.

Will you share my information with anyone?
We do not share your phone number or email address with anyone else. It will only be used to confirm your order and update you with Turkey Knob Apple promotions.
When will my shipping box arrive?
This depends on when it is sent. Most apple boxes are sent on Mondays or Tuesdays to ensure they arrive before the weekend. We never want a box of apples to sit in a FedEx terminal over the weekend, especially a long holiday weekend. First we ask that you check the day you asked us to ship it when filling out your order. An order late in the week would always be sent the following Monday unless specifically asked otherwise. We also try not to send on short holiday weeks. These are a few reasons there could be a delay in your box being sent.
