After discovering a chance seedling in an orchard nestled in the heart of British Columbia’s Similkameen Valley, this apple tree of unknown origin began producing gorgeous, sunset-shaded, sweet apples. Their nectar evoked thoughts of Greek mythology, and the apple was thus dubbed Ambrosia. This food of the gods is heralded for its impossibly delicious juices, satisfying crunch, and soft flesh - not unlike that of the Gala.

This is a great choice for pulling from the fridge and eating fresh. Due to a lack of acidity, it is slow to brown, making it fantastic for a snack or to cut up for a lunch box. This distinct sweetness assists baking or cooking and decreases the need for additional sugar. It is a relatively rare apple, so enjoy its delectable benefits.
